This notice covers www.avano.se. It does not cover the Avano One product itself, which runs in our customers' own environments and where the customer is the controller for whatever the system records.
What we collect, and why
When you write to us
The contact form and our email address collect your name, your email address, the subject and whatever you choose to write. We use it to answer you and to follow up on the conversation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We keep enquiries for 24 months and then delete them, unless the conversation turns into a customer or supplier relationship, in which case it is kept for as long as that relationship needs it.
When you sign up for product updates
What we take. Your email address, the date and time you signed up, and a record of the exact wording you agreed to. Not your name, not your company, not your IP address. The form asks for one field because one field is all we need.
Why. To send you occasional notes about product releases and new capabilities. A few times a year, not weekly. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Where it goes. Your address is stored by our email delivery provider, who holds the list and sends the messages on our instructions under a data processing agreement. It is not copied into a CRM, a sales tool or a spreadsheet. Inside Avano only the people who write and send these updates can see the list.
How we confirm it. Signing up does not by itself put you on the list. We send you one email with a link, and nothing else follows unless you click it. That protects you from being signed up by somebody else typing your address.
What we never do with it. We do not sell it, rent it, swap it or hand it to a partner. We do not use it to build a profile of you, to target advertising, or to work out which pages you read. The update list and our website analytics are kept apart and are never matched to each other.
How to get out. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe, and it takes effect immediately. You can also write to hello@avano.se and we will remove you. After you unsubscribe we delete your address, and keep only the record of the consent you gave and withdrew for a further 24 months, because if we deleted that too we would have no way to show the list was lawful.
When you read the site
If you agree to it, Google Analytics tells us which pages get read and roughly where readers come from. We use it to decide what to write more of. It is not used for advertising, and we have not enabled Google Signals or ads personalisation.
The legal basis is your consent, both for the processing (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and for storing the cookies themselves (Chapter 6, Section 18 of the Swedish Electronic Communications Act). If you say no, or say nothing, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics identifier is created. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our instructions, under a data processing agreement:
- Google Ireland Limited, for Google Analytics, and only where you have agreed to it.
- Our email delivery provider, for storing the product update list and sending the messages. We are appointing an EU-based provider and will name it here before the first update goes out.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers this site is served from.
Some of these suppliers may process data outside the EU and EEA. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, and ask for it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time, and that does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
Write to hello@avano.se and we will answer within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY), Box 8114, 104 20 Stockholm, imy.se.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. We use as few as we can manage, and only one of them is set without asking, because it is the one that remembers your answer.

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, and we have your address, we will tell you directly.
